The beautiful sandstone rock formations lead to jagged cliffs and sea caves that are fun for exploring. There is no where else like it in the world. In the summertime you can take boat tours that explore the many islands, but the most popular and populated is definitely Madeline Island. It is considered the spiritual center of the Lake Superior Chippewa, Anishinaabe people. There is a lot of history behind the islands that you can read about when you get there. We traveled there in the Fall right before the leaves decided to change, but it was a perfect time of year to go for a visit.
