*You will need a filtered Shortwave UV light (sw 254nm) in order to see the best fluorescent colors shown in the pictures.* A Longwave light (lw 365nm) will only show the orange tugtupite fluorescence. This tiny specimen has some tenebrescent tugtupite. *Regular black lights, purple lights, or blue lights don't usually work for fluorescent minerals, so make sure you use the proper indicated UV light* *Please keep in mind that the higher the UV light's wattage is, the brighter the fluorescent reaction will be* Weight: 0.33 oz (9.5 g) Size: 1" x 1" x 3/8" Locality: Taseq West Slope, Ilimaussaq Complex in Greenland. This specimen was photographed using a 36 watt shortwave (254nm) ultraviolet lamp. The pictures have not been retouched. -Shortwave lamps have a range of 200-280 nm. (254 nm are recommended) -Midwave lights have a spectrum of 280-315 nm and are also called UVA. (310-314 nm are recommended) -Longwave lights have a spectrum of 315-400 nm and are also called UVA.
