This pretty and practical waist length shawl featuring 7 leaves and has been hand knit by me using a commercially produced 100% wool yarn in ivory and comes with a double ended toggle button fastening. Shawls are very versatile and can be worn in lots of different ways, although this particular design is crescent shaped and so will wrap around your shoulders and you can fasten it together at whatever position is comfortable for you or you might try having it come over your arms and then underneath them fastening the tips around your mid-back so that it kind of forms sleeves. This would be an amazing unique handmade accessory for everyday wear or to buy as a special gift for that special lady. How to clean hand knit or crocheted shawls: Clean by gently placing in hand warm and a specialist delicate soap such as SOAK or Eucalan and allow to soak for 30 minutes, no vigorous rubbing is needed. Gently squeeze out the excess water (do not wring), place on a clean towel and roll it up then press down gently on the towel to soak up as much as possible. Lay out flat on a clean surface to dry, using pins and/or blocking wires to gently stretch the shawl out to shape and maintain its beauty if required. Want to buy as a gift? All my shawls are sent out in a brand new sturdy white ribbon tie gift box with tissue paper surrounding the shawl for protection and a couple of other special little packaging details that you only get when buying handmade. There are many C marks, where the marbles have hit rocks during their time in the North Sea. This is a feature which makes your sea glass marble more unique. Purist sea glass marble necklace... beach marble sphere... sea glass set in silver plated bezel setting on silver plated chain in length of your choice. The marble has not been channel drilled, it is set in the silver wrapping without having been altered. Marble is between 16-18mm diameter. Codd marbles are approx 80-100 years old. Every marble is unique and if the Sea has been rough, there are lovely tumble marks on it. Occasionally a marble might have a small piece missing, but they are all frosted. This is a feature and makes your marble that bit more special. SIZE Marble is approx 16-18mm diameter Optional 18" sterling silver chain or complimentary silver plated chain in (16"/18"/20"/22" or 24") length CODD MARBLES: The Codd-neck bottle was designed and manufactured to enclose a marble and a rubber washer/gasket in the neck. The bottles are filled upside down, and pressure of the gas in the bottle forced the marble against the washer, sealing in the carbonation. The bottle was pinched into a special shape, as can be seen in the photo to the right, to provide a chamber into which the marble was pushed to open the bottle. This prevented the marble from blocking the neck as the drink was poured. Codd bottles were used until the 1920s in Scotland/UK. Sea glass marble found on the rough coasts of Scotland. This marble has not been altered in any way, there is no glue or channel drilling involved in this piece of jewellery.
