A continuación se definen de forma general los ESTADOS generales de los DISCOS según la ESCALA GOLDMINE: (NM) Near Mint El disco no muestra signos evidentes de desgaste.. Básicamente un disco casi nuevo. (VG +) Very Good Plus Muestra algunos signos de que ha reproducido pero por otra parte será evidente que un dueño anterior tuvo buen cuidado de él. La superficie del disco puede mostrar algunos signos de desgaste y puede tener rozaduras leves o rasguños ligeros que no afecten las experiencias propias de la escucha. Deformaciones leves que no afectan el sonido son aceptadas. Las etiquetas/galletas pueden tener cierto desgaste, anillo de desgaste o decoloración, pero debe ser apenas perceptible. El agujero central no se debe haber deformado por la repetida reproducción. (VG) Very Good Ruido de superficie será evidente al reproducir, sobre todo en los pasajes suaves y durante la intro y el desvanecimiento de una canción, pero no dominará a la música de otra manera. El desgaste del surco comenzará a ser notable, al igual que con los rasguños ligeros (lo suficientemente profundo para sentir con los dedos) que afectarán al sonido. Las etiquetas pueden estar desfiguradas por un escrito, o puede tener cintas o pegatinas (o sus residuos) adjuntas.
