JOAQUIN SABINA - HOTEL DULCE HOTEL - ALBUM VINILO ORIGINAL PRIMERA EDICION 1987 ARIOLA JOAQUIN SABINA - HOTEL DULCE HOTEL - ALBUM VINILO ORIGINAL PRIMERA EDICION 1987 ARIOLA Tras el parón de un disco en directo, Joaquín Sabina se separa de la banda Viceversa y sigue con su carrera en solitario firmando los discos únicamente con su nombre. De la banda sólo sigue con el jienense el guitarrista Pancho Varona, que hasta ahora siguen siendo inseparables. Tenemos entre manos un disco auténtico, real. Sabina se convierte en un fedatario público de los sentimientos colectivos. Nos guiña el ojo, casi diciéndonos que es uno de nosotros. Si bien tiene algún altibajo, no es menos cierto que los aciertos son muchos, y grandes. Arranca melancólica y afligida “ Así estoy yo sin ti ”, canción de gran tradición sabinera, con trazo grueso pero preciso el jienense nos retrata cuando el amor se ha acabado y no tenemos a esa persona con nosotros. Le sigue el enorme hit “ Pacto entre caballeros ”, que recrea a ritmo de rock una historia supuestamente cierta (o al menos la cuenta Sabina como tal), cuando el cantante es asaltado en plena calle y es reconocido por uno de sus asaltantes; seguidamente se fueron los cuatro de juerga para terminar la velada, Sabina prometiéndoles una canción. Si bien ha sido tomada durante mucho tiempo por cierta, el propio cantante ha jugado mucho al despiste con el asunto, confirmando y desmintiendo la historia repetidas veces. De la mano de un clarinete de vodevil entra en escena “ Que se llama Soledad ”, otra canción de corte intimista en la que expresa la angustia reflejada en los versos que se le escriben a la persona amada. Tras una brutal tríada de canciones el disco se vuelve puntilloso; entra “ Besos de Judas ” otro tema de relaciones complicadas y adictivas con un sintetizador que descoloca un poco el tema, la ácida “ Oiga doctor ” donde medio en serio, medio en broma, se trata el tema de la adicción a la depresión de la sociedad moderna, la necesidad del artista de sentirse mal para crear y de la realidad que vive la persona adinerada que supuestamente necesita sentirse rebelde y sentirse mal para trabajar. “Con ella descubrí que hay amores eternos / que duran lo que dura un corto invierno”. Con este verso cierra Sabina el siguiente corte del disco “ Amores eternos ”, aunque ciertamente es una canción algo extraña; muy aderezada de percusiones latinas y xilófonos, rompiendo con la tónica general, hasta ahora entre la melancolía y el rock and roll al que ya Sabina se ha abonado casi definitivamente. A ese mismo rock and roll precisamente recurre Sabina para retratar de nuevo una situación mil veces vivida por muchos;“ Mira Mónica ,  Inapelable, una canción que sigue reservando claves y sorpresas en su mensaje, convirtiéndose para muchos en un cronista de la realidad de las relaciones humanas. Relaciones y situaciones que precisamente satiriza con maestría el artista en “ Cuernos ”, donde aconseja qué tipo de amantes conviene elegir y a cuáles conviene evitar; hablando siempre de acostarse con mujeres casadas, claro está. En una vuelta curiosa a la tortilla pero comiéndonos aún esa misma tortilla tenemos la canción que cierra el disco “ Hotel, dulce hotel ”, que narra las rutinas de los encuentros furtivos de los que tienen una aventura para salir precisamente de la dinámica de la rutina (valga la redundancia). «Hotel, Dulce Hotel» (Ariola, 1987) es un disco que es un puñado de realidades, de vivencias, de fotografías de los bienes y miserias de nuestra época. Y digo de nuestra época aunque el disco sea de 1987. Efectivamente, ese es otro tanto que se apunta el bueno de Joaquín.   Hotel, dulce hotel  fue el quinto disco de Joaquín Sabina, sacado a la venta en 1987 y del que vendió 400.000 discos. Después de dos discos firmando como Joaquín Sabina y Viceversa, el disco vuelve a estar firmado por Sabina en solitario. La edición en cassette fue doble, ya que contenía el resto de caras B y se tituló Curiosity (Killing the Cat): Cure Anomalies 1977–1984. El disco es el resultado de las grabaciones de los conciertos que dio la banda en el actual Hammersmith Apollo de Londres y en Oxford en mayo de 1984. La portada fue diseñada por el mismo Robert Smith, bajo el seudónimo de Toberr, con un fotograma de vídeo de una emisión de televisión en directo el 25 de agosto de 1984 durante el concierto que The Cure ofrecieron en el Barrowland Ballroom situado en Glasgow, Escocia y que tenía la intención de que ilustrase un disco pirata de la banda. Además, la inclusión de " Charlotte sometimes " permitió conocer más ampliamente una de las rarezas inéditas publicadas en formato single de The Cure. Del frío y experimental "Seventeen seconds" se recogería " A forest " en una psicodélica versión que se convertiría a posteriori en la joya del siniestro afterpunk. Finalmente, para cerrar este álbum " 10:15 Saturday night " y " Killing an arab ", los dos temas de su primer single con aquel primerizo powerpop característico. En definitiva, en "Concert - The Cure Live" se recogían las mayores virtudes del primer y más interesante período de una de las bandas más exitosas de la década de los 80. The album was a Top 10 hit in the UK, and was their first studio album to break the Billboard 200 in the US, reaching number 180. Melody Maker praised the album as "psychedelia that can't be dated", while pondering, "I've yet to meet anyone who can tell me why the Cure are having hits now of all times." The Cure then embarked on their worldwide Top Tour with Thompson, Anderson and producer-turned-bassist Phil Thornalley on board. Released in late 1984, The Cure's first live album, Concert consisted of performances from this tour. Near the tour's end, Anderson was fired for destroying a hotel room and was replaced by Boris Williams. Thornalley also left because of the stress of touring. However, the bassist slot was not vacant long, for a Cure roadie named Gary Biddles had brokered a reunion between Smith and former bassist Simon Gallup, who had been playing in the band Fools Dance. Soon after reconciling, Smith asked Gallup to rejoin the band. Concert: The Cure Live is the first live album of English rock band The Cure. It was recorded in 1984 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London and in Oxford. Its cassette tape edition featured on the B-side a twin album of anomalies, titled Curiosity (Killing the Cat): Cure Anomalies 1977–1984.
