Fue acompañado también de un recopilatorio de New Order titulado Substance. Alcanzó el puesto número 7 en las listas de ventas del Reino Unido1 y el puesto 146 en el Billboard 200. También alcanzó el puesto 15 en Nueva Zelanda y el 53 en Australia en agosto de 1988. Substance compila los cuatro sencillos lanzados por la banda que no aparecían en ningún álbum. Estos son: "Transmission", "Komakino", "Love Will Tear Us Apart" y "Atmosphere", todos con sus respectivos lados B. Following the death of Ian Curtis, it was reissued as a posthumous B-side of the "She's Lost Control" single in an alternate version from the track that had previously appeared on Unknown Pleasures. The vinyl version omits the single "Komakino" and does not include the complete titles from the extended plays. Later CD pressings issued by London Records contain a previously unreleased mix of "She's Lost Control" that is slightly different from the original single release. More guitar is mixed within the song, the synthesizer melody is shortened and starts at a later point, and the ending of the song is extended by 15 seconds and doesn't fade out. Substance was digitally remastered in 2015 containing the alternate mix of "She's Lost Control" and two additional tracks: "As You Said" (the second b-side of Komakino) and the b-side mix of "Love Will Tear Us Apart".

The next year the two cut the similar-sounding  Under Wraps  using the  Jethro Tull  banner. Most of the work, including drum programming, was done by  Anderson  in his home studio before guitar and (scant) bass guitar were added. The group members were excited about their latest sounds, which brought a cold edginess to the usual intricate music (the acoustic "Under Wraps No. 2" being one exception). Lyrically,  Anderson  was letting go of his Olde English façade; here he showed his fascination with Cold War-era espionage. While the British audiences didn't mind the changes, U.S. buyers pretty much hated the album. Compared to the U.S. number 19 position of 1982's  The Broadsword and the Beast,  Under Wraps  never got past number 76. (Crest of a Knave, three years later, shot up to number 33.) The original release had 11 tracks, with "Astronomy," "Tundra," "Automotive Engineering," and "General Crossing" appearing as B-sides and bonus tracks around the world. Now the standard release carries all 15 tracks.

Totalmente underground y mucho más cerca del hard–rock psicodélico 70s que del Heavy Metal que el grupo, ya como Zarpa, practicarían poco después y los convertiría en uno de los grandes nombre del Metal actual. Por primera vez editado en vinilo. Sonido remasterizado de las cintas originales, insert con notas informativas y raras fotos del archivo de Vicente Feijóo, líder de Zarpa. Mislata, Valencia, 1977: cuatro adolescentes de tan solo 15 y 16 años se juntan para formar lo que será uno de los grupos pioneros del rock duro español. Inicialmente llamados Wolframio, durante su primer año de existencia se dedican a aprender a tocar en su local de ensayo. Sus componentes eran: Vicente Feijóo: voz y guitarra; Eduardo Feijóo: bajo y coros; Vicente Catalá: guitarra y Jesús Martinez a la batería. A finales de 1977 Vicente Catalá abandona el grupo y entra Javier Hervías. Deciden cambiarse el nombre por Zarpa Rock y son reclutados por la agencia de contratación Zeus Rock, que ya contaba en sus filas con otros grupos valencianos como Doble Zero. Su promotor les ofrece entrar en un estudio para registrar su primera grabación y el resultado es ’Los 4 Jinetes del Apocalipsis’, grabado en una sola toma y con el grupo tocando a la vez en el estudio. Cinco largos temas conceptuales con sonido crudo y totalmente underground, que remite a grupos de principios de los 70 de hard–rock como Black Sabbath o los primeros Judas Priest. Poco después, ya como Zarpa, el grupo llega a actuar con importantes figuras como Ian Gillan, Ñu, Barón Rjo o Leño, para pasar a convertirse en las siguientes décadas en uno de los grandes nombre internacionales dentro del Metal en España.

El tono en la mayor parte del disco es melancólico y personal, con un piano suave, cuerdas ricas una de sus mejores canciones, abre el álbum con una sensación de aprensión y anhelo, mientras que cortes como la hermosa y vívida canción principal, el anhelo 'At the End of the Day' y el evocador cerrador 'No End'. muy bien siga su ejemplo. Los covers de 'Whispering Grass' y 'Until the Real Thing Comes Along' de The Ink Spots rompen un poco el estado de ánimo, Estas dos canciones parecen insinuar una nueva dirección que nunca se materializó realmente en sus últimos años, aunque en un momento se rumoreaba un álbum completo de canciones de Ink Spots. Como último trabajo en solitario de Sandy Denny durante cuatro años, Like an Old Fashioned Waltz sigue siendo un disco íntimo y conmovedor.
