This is a custom embroidered couple portrait on oval hoop. It includes one couple (two people) and two oval flexi hoops. All work is hand embroidered using a minimalist personal style with black and white thread on organic unbleached cotton. IMPORTANT: Please take a moment to read the instructions below. Make sure you understand, agree to, and can follow each step. Due to the nature of custom orders, I’ll need your help to develop the process without any problems and work well. HELPFUL INSTRUCTIONS: 1. How to order: After purchasing the item I'll get back to you very soon. I will need 2 or 3 clear pictures (of each person). Please make sure that I can see their eyes and other facial features, if you have photos taken from eye level it will be so great. Once everything is clear I'll start studing the pictures and drawing some sketches for you, to show you the composition. I will emphasize on the expression of the face. You'll receive proof sketch via Etsy conversation. You'll have the opportunity to request any small corrections for the specific sketch. Once you have approved the final sketch I'll start the final part the embroidery step! If you want me to work on a new sketch from the start based on a new photo you'll send me after the final sketches are complete, this will cause an additional cost. 2. Size: Portraits are framed on oval hoop. Hoop size: 3'' x 4'' (7.5cm x 10cm). 3. Shipping: About 2-4 weeks after the photos were sent to the mail and all the required information is settled. Please confirm turnaround time before purchasing. If you need the portraits by a particular date please contact me first. Please note that International shipping is not guaranteed to arrive within this time frame and can sometimes be unpredictable. Item will be shipped only by Registered Mail with Tracking number. 4. Quality: The embroidery art piece is hand stitched on organic unbleached cotton. I work with the finest black and white cotton thread. ADITIONAL INFORMATION: Embroidery is a slow process and it needs it's time, so please have patience. If you have photos taken from eye level it will be great because it helps me to read the face and the shape more clearly. If you don't have any photos following the sample pictures, that's ok! take a moment to take a selfie! I specialize in custom embroidery portraits inspired by your photos. QUALITY - The very first thing I look for in a photograph is the quality. As a highly detailed pencil artist I am attracted to detail like a bee to honey, so the more detail in a photo the better your portrait will be. This is especially importrant for your pet's key features such as their eyes and nose. It is highly importrant that the photo is sharp and in focus. Sadly, I am unable to work from blurry photos. LIGHTING - Take your pet's photo in natural light, preferably outdoors. The best time is on a bright overcast day but not in direct sunlight as this can cast some unflattering images. Turn Flash 'OFF' - Please NEVER use flash. Flash causes a number of problems and looks very unflattering. It often masks out a lot of detail, causes unnatural shadows and colours, and can often result in the dreaded red-eye or eye glowing effect. As a professional artist it is importrant to use the highest quality art materials available so that my portraits can last through generations. For my coloured portraits I use a mixed selection of pants and pencils for the best colour palette and use of light-fast materials; I use Winsor & Newton paints, Faber Castell Polychromos, Primsacolor Premiers, Caran D'Ache Luminance 6901, and Derwent Studio pencils. I also sometimes use Caran D'Ache Neocolor II as an underpainting for the start of a portrait. The pencils I use are archival, with the highest degrees of lightfastness. My graphite portraits are created using FaberCastell 9000 pencils and Derwent Graphic Pencils. The paper I use is french Arches Aquarelle and Italian Fabriano artistico/classico 260gsm hot pressed paper which is acid-free and archival museum rated.
