Después le explica que Zanarkand fue destruida 1000 años atrás y que todo lo que Tidus parece saber, creer o conocer carece de lógica. Y aquí es donde verdaderamente empieza la aventura. Encarnando a Tidus deberemos descubrir qué es lo que nos ha pasado y cómo podremos volver a Zanarkand, nuestro hogar. Para ello deberemos descubrir cuál es la relación entre nuestro viaje y Sinh. Conoceremos a muchos personajes en una intrincada historia que revelará la verdad que hay tras Sinh y el mundo de Tidus, que pareciera existir en otro tiempo. Entre estos personajes conoceremos a Yuna, que junto con Tidus se embarcará en una gran aventura para librar a Spira de Sinh y devolver al joven a su propio tiempo. Final Fantasy X-2 Spira... dos años después de La Calma. El Clero y el Dogma de Yevon han perdido casi todo su poder y los sacerdotes del templo ya no se sienten útiles en la sociedad. Las máquinas albhed ya están permitidas y la mayoría de la gente ha tenido que buscarse otro objetivo en la vida, muy distinto al anterior, ya que la mera existencia de Sin les condicionaba.
