Time is the Key  es un álbum de  Pierre Moerlen's Gong  , lanzado a fines de 1979.   Con una completamente instrumental  de jazz  sonido impulsada, notable por el uso prominente de  percusión martillo  , tiene poco que ver con la  psicodelia  roca espacial  de  Daevid Allen  's  Gong  , a pesar de que las dos bandas comparten una historia común.  Cuenta con el tecladista de jazz inglés  Peter Lemer  en la mayoría de las pistas, su único álbum para hacerlo, y  Allmusic  nota que también hay una  influencia  rock progresiva  en juego, especialmente en los dos primeros números.
