I've set it into a really interesting setting, that's set in pave white topaz and black spinel. It's got high contrast of it's details because of the black and white stones, which gives it a really classic, almost art deco feel to it. The band of your engagement ring is solid 14k yellow gold. It is cast from an indian elm branch that I found on a hike here in Tennessee. There are faint striations along the band, as on the original branch. It measures 2.3 - 2.4mm wide. The knot in the branch opposite the gemstone is 2.6mm wide. A bit of spring, of life, eternally preserved in recycled gold. The classic prong setting is solid 14k white gold.
