Si nos presionan para obtener una lista de los mejores guitarristas de los 70, pocos de nosotros encontraríamos a “Adrian Gurvitz” listo en los labios, en gran parte, según parece, debido a la subexposición en bandas como esta. De hecho, es un guitarrista de rock inteligente y conciso, un vocalista más que útil y un compositor de gran mérito. Help Me, Inside of Me y Since Beginning (en sí mismo un digno ciudadano de Yes 'Topographic Oceans) son tan buenos como cualquier cosa que produjo el movimiento progresivo de mediados de los setenta (con la salvedad de que muchas bandas progresivas se estaban moviendo hacia el rock melódico y corto en ese momento). De interés: 4 Phil está dedicado a Phil Seamen, mentor de Baker, quien falleció en 1972. BAKER GURVITZ ARMY fue una banda de rock progresivo pesado formada en 1974 en Inglaterra. La banda fue la combinación de miembros de THE GUN y THREE MAN ARMY, con el ex-baterista de CREAM Ginger BAKER, el guitarrista y vocalista Adrian GURVITZ, y el bajista Paul GURVITZ formaron la alineación de la banda. La banda lanzó su primer álbum homónimo en 1974, Su álbum debut homónimo presentaba una mezcla de hard rock con la percusión de Ginger Baker. El largo 'Mad Jack' fue la pista sobresaliente de ese álbum, y el álbum llegó a la lista US Billboard 200 y alcanzó el puesto 22 en la lista de álbumes del Reino Unido.
