I wanted to explore the unique relationship between the Sherpa people and the Himalayas, and how their lifestyle and environment are intertwined. To do this, I decided to use a mixed media collage, incorporating various elements and materials to create a layered and dynamic composition. I started by creating portraits of the Sherpa people to capture their individuality and diversity. Then, I added in other elements that represent the Sherpa lifestyle and the Himalayas, such as maps, landscape imagery, and cultural symbols. By layering and juxtaposing these elements, I was able to create a rich and complex composition that tells a story. Throughout the process, I paid close attention to composition and balance, making sure that the different elements worked together to create a cohesive whole. I also used my technical skills to experiment with different materials and techniques, such as found objects and printmaking, to create texture and visual interest. Overall, I believe this mixed media collage is a powerful way to convey the themes and narratives I wanted to explore. By using different materials and techniques, I was able to create a unique and meaningful piece that captures the essence of the Sherpa people and their connection to the Himalayas.
